The last to leave

The Power of Music in Our Lives

Let me begin with this:

I’m not a neuroscientist.

I’m not a music graduate.

These are just musings.

Spoken from the soul, with the heart of a lightworker.

But what I am certain of — is how powerful music has been in my life.

It’s moved me, healed me, awakened me… and held me.

I saw a video recently about dementia.

It shared that when the mind begins to forget, when memory fades and names slip away —

Music is often the last thread to go.

It stays. It stirs. It brings people back to themselves, if only for a moment.

And I believe that. Deeply.

Because music isn’t just entertainment - it’s emotional recall.

It’s energy, frequency, and memory wrapped in rhythm.

I remember being asked as a child -

Would you rather give up music or TV?

Easy. T.V. Always.

Would you rather sing or dance?

Again — easy. Dance.

Because I feel music in my body first.

It rushes through my skin, through my bones — I don’t just hear music… I move with it.

I love singing too, don’t get me wrong, but dancing is different.

It’s like every chord unlocks something in me.

Every rhythm becomes a form of remembering, I literally feel rhythm in my bones, to my core.

There’s magic in that.

These days though, I’m a little more discerning.

I’ve seen enough on my own rabbit hole journeys to know:

Words cast spells.

And the subconscious mind believes everything you speak or sing out loud.

So I choose carefully.

There are artists I don’t listen to anymore - not from fear, but from understanding.

There’s darkness hidden in some frequencies.

Hidden in lyrics. Hidden in intent.

And while I won’t name names (because the truth only reveals itself when you’re ready to see it),

I will say this:

If you ever feel that whisper to look deeper… follow it.

The rabbit hole is open.

Always.

On a brighter note — pun intended — I’ve also learned about the shift in tuning.

Instruments were once tuned to 432hz - a frequency many believe aligns with the Earth, the body, and natural harmony.

But years ago, that was changed to 440hz.

This subtle difference affected how we receive music — how it resonates through us.

And maybe that’s why some songs heal… and others don’t.

Bashar once shared that the most healing piece of music is the beginning of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, Movement 2.

(And yes, I checked — that’s correct.)

I feel it in my bones every time.

It’s solemn, but not heavy. Moving, but not overwhelming.

It’s wise.

It leaves you feeling empowered.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again:

Music played a huge role in my awakening.

Certain lyrics found me at the perfect time.

Certain songs felt like they were written through me, not just for me.

Even now, I thank my guide Alex — who often sends me songs like little breadcrumbs.

I have entire playlists dedicated to moods, moments, portals.

Tracks like 'Gypsy' that remind me who I am when I forget.

Songs that create space for remembering… for release… for renewal.

Music speaks when the world goes quiet.

It reaches into places no conversation can go.

And apparently — even when our memories fade — music is the last to leave.

Which tells me everything I need to know.

It’s not just sound.

It’s soul memory.
