The soul of a Crystal

Updated: Jul 2, 2025

Crystals Aren’t Just Pretty — They’re Patient

That one stone you forgot about? It remembers you.

I don’t remember my first crystal.

Because honestly? I don’t remember a time without them.

I grew up surrounded by them — by incense (which we called joss sticks), tarot cards, dreamcatchers, and hippy friends of my mum… normal. It didn’t feel mystical back then. It felt everyday.

There were always crystals in the house and I’d pick them up without ceremony, without needing to “cleanse” or “program” anything. I didn’t know what they were for, they were just beautiful to me.

I liked how they felt.

Cool. Comforting. Familiar.

Like they knew something about me that I hadn’t grown into yet.

I carried some of them around like secret companions. Not because I was told to — but because something in me recognised something in them.

Fast forward to now, and I’ve got bowls and baskets of crystals, they're placed proudly on shelves, windowsills, bedside tables and in my car. Some I chose with intention, some that just appeared in my life. And what I’ve learned over the years is this:

Crystals don’t rush you.

They don’t force a healing.

They don’t demand attention.

They wait.

Until you’re ready.

Until the energy aligns.

Until the version of you they’ve been quietly humming for finally arrives.

There’s a piece of blue lace agate I keep close. She’s not loud, not sparkly - just soft. From time to time, without really thinking about it, I’ll pick her up and press her against my chest.

And every time… it feels like a hug.

The kind of hug that doesn’t ask anything of you. The kind that says,

“You don’t have to explain. I know. Just rest here a minute.”

I don’t even use her intentionally anymore. She just finds her way to me when I need to exhale. And I’ve come to realise — that’s the medicine. That’s the point.

Some crystals don’t need to be activated.

They’re already awake.

They’re just waiting for us to lean in.

But there’s another truth, one not enough people talk about.

Crystals have a soul.

Not a poetic metaphor — a real, energetic signature.

And just like us, they carry imprints of what they’ve been through.

Many of the crystals sold today have been overmined, blasted from the Earth without reverence, handled without care, rolled to make them more aesthetically pleasing, smoother to hold, commodified into “healing trends.” And yet… they still show up for our growth.

Some come to us heavy.

Some come traumatised.

Some come as volunteers.

But none of them come empty.

When we hold them, we’re not just tapping into their energy — we’re also tapping into their experience. Where they came from. Who touched them. What the Earth felt like when they were removed.

So when we talk about “cleansing” a crystal…

It’s not just moonlight and smoke.

It’s grief.

It’s honouring.

It’s letting them speak, if we’re finally ready to listen and cleansing them of energy that has been without love and care

I work with crystals and I show them love too.

They support me energetically, and that support isn’t one-sided.

Nothing can pour from an empty cup.

I don’t claim to know everything about them.

I’m not a textbook. I’m not a geologist.

But I know how to listen.

I can feel how they feel.

I can sense when a stone is light and ready, and when it’s weary or heavy.

I can feel when one wants to be held and when it needs rest.

Because I translate energy.

That’s the language I speak.

And in that language, love is a frequency.

One that’s meant to be returned.

These beings aren't here to be extracted, used, or expected to give endlessly.

They're here to partner with us.

To mirror, to ground, to guide — when we honour them back.

For the ones who sit quietly beside us while we find our way back home.

If this piece stirred something in you — a memory, a resonance, or even a new way of seeing the stones in your care — you might enjoy diving even deeper into the soul of crystals.

There’s a powerful episode over on podbean. By Akashic Record Truths titled “Caring for Mother Earth’s Crystals.” It explores the deeper consciousness of crystals, the importance of ethical awareness, and the sacred responsibility we hold when working with these Earth keepers.

Let it be a remembering — of them, of you, and of the bond that goes far beyond “pretty things.”
